The 6MM Sidewinder is a fully automatic non-lethal machine gun, firing a 6MM spherical plastic pellet at the cyclic rate of 150 rounds per second (9,000 per minute). It is available full auto only, but short bursts of 3 to 10 rounds are readily achieved. Magazine capacitiy is 1,600 rounds and is loaded by simply pouring the ammunition into the magazine.
Muzzle velocity is 600 FPS. Various weights of the plastic ammunition are available, as well as tactical choices including metallic and paint filled rounds.
The weapon is powered by high pressure air (HPA). It is a fully gas operated unit, with no springs, pistons, electric motors or electronics. The HPA tank is normally directly attached to the fore-grip of the gun, but a flexible hose option is available for carrying a larger gas source on the leg or back of the operator. This option can allow for longer tactical presence.
